Classes

Please read all of this information when registering a class.

Vaccinations The State of Iowa requires that we keep copies of both the rabies certificate and DAPPV vaccination records on file for dogs taking classes in the building. Please add appropriate vaccination dates on your dog’s information AND email us those records well in advance of your class at dmotcreg@gmail.com. Else, bring copies of the paperwork when you arrive for your first class. We also require a negative stool check (for puppy classes only). We can only accept vaccination records given by a veterinarian.

All dogs over the age of 12 weeks must have a rabies vaccination and certificate. This is a state law we are required to follow.

Please bring the following items for your first class:
Leash and buckle collar, slip, or prong collar (no retractable ‘flexi’ leads or chain leads; any collar, with exception of e-collar, is allowed)
Your dog’s favorite soft treats – lots and lots of treats! (and toy if you wish)

Other important details to note:

No wolves or wolf hybrids
Persons must be 14 years of age or older to train in class. Family and friends are welcome to observe.
Dogs not registered in a class are not permitted on DMOTC premises.
Prices and class schedules are subject to change without notice.
Sorry, no refunds.
Our classes have both maximum and minimum capacities.
DMOTC only offers group classes and is not the right environment for working with a dog who has shown any aggression towards people or other dogs. For everyone’s safety, if your dog has shown any aggressive behavior, we suggest www.apdt.com to find a private trainer.

We do not do wait lists. When registration for a class is open, a link will be available.

If you have any questions, please reach out to us at dmotcreg@gmail.com.

DMOTC is completely volunteer operated. We will do our best to respond promptly to emails and phone calls.

Full list of upcoming classes: DMOTC Classes. If no classes show up, that means no classes are currently open for registration. Our next round of public classes will not be starting until sometime in Jan, 2024. The schedule should be finalized and published a month in advance, please watch the website in December for those registrations to open up.
